Jeffress admits to being in rehab - Brewers Blog
Phoenix - In an open and candid interview, Brewers pitching prospect Jeremy Jeffress admitted to me he spent a month in a rehab facility for substance abuse and vowed to stop smoking marijuana.
Jeffress, the Brewers' first-round draft pick in 2006, is currently serving a 50-game suspension for testing positive for a "substance of abuse" last season with Class A West Virginia. Forty games of that suspension carry over to this season.
The substance was not identified in the minor league drug program but it's no secret in the organization that Jeffress has had a problem with marijuana. In fact, he also has failed multiple drug tests administered by the team, all for marijuana.
