Tweaking Miller Park - Brewers Blog

The Milwaukee Brewers had planned to spend as much as $1 million this year to fix and upgrade Miller Park's sound system.

However, while there may be some spending to tweak the sound system, the Brewers have decided to hold off on a major project.

The new thinking among Brewers' officials is to make major improvements in the sound and scoreboard systems sometime after 2010.

I do understand improving the sound system and they should.

But why bother improving the videoboards? Do they use the videoboard they have now in a mather that justafide having a state of the art videoboard? The answer to that question is no they don't.

If they spend the Money for a new Videoboard will they start showing instant replay for it is worth the invistment? My guess would be No so why bother for it isn't going to sell more tickets to look at the thing.

Nah, reminds me too much of County Stadium.

Mark Attanasio recently said on one of the TV broadcasts that this upcoming 2008 -> 2009 off season that they're going to try to upgrade the score board. Probably to a full-color fancy one. Kinda hard to imagine that this one is eight-ish years old.

            Tweek This and That

Cosmetic things that I think would add destinction to the place:

            1) Plant some Sugar Maples between the fences in the outfield. How cool would it look to have those golden leaves on the branches during a race for the title.

            2) Get rid of some of the green around the place. It's almost as bad as painting all the beam browm at County.

            3) Put some aisles through some of the sections. It grows old fast when you have people climbing across the rows all game long because there are no easy ways through some of the sections upstairs.

            4) Put up Christmas lights on the outside during the Christmas season.

            5) Do something with the grounds around the place. Those lots make it nice, but it looks so empty out there. Maple trees on the islands? Some poles and awnings along the sidewalks?

More trees outside would be nice. But they would look strange inside - the park's not open enough to feel natural.

Bringing back the mug is a must, though.

I could see a new scoreboard. I like the one in San Fransisco.

This is the Kansas City Royal's full HD digital scoreboard.

WOW. I think the Brewers could afford something bigger than that though. LOL!
