  • 2013 ZiPS projections

Dan Szymborski's ZiPS projections, which have typically appeared in the pages of Baseball Think Factory, are being released at FanGraphs this year. Below are the projections for the Milwaukee Brewers.

Brewers fans should like the projection for Ryan Braun. .371 OBP/.540 SLG, 33 HR, 24 SB and 6 Wins Above Replacement.

The pitching doesn't look so good. Beyond Gallardo there's not a lot of consistent innings. If the starters can hold up this should be a good team.

I'm not so much worried about the starting rotation more the bullpens ability to not hemorrhage runs in games where the Brewers lead.

Losing Gamel hurts a bit I think - not just for this season, but future years as well. Had he performed okay, it would give the Brewers some leverage when dealing with Corey Hart's contract. Now he'll be almost two full seasons removed from live action, and coming back at 28 from two serious knee injuries won't be easy.
