  • Why Not Challenge?

Wondering who else thinks Roenicke should have challenged the play Saturday night when Gomez slid under AJ Piercynski's tag at home. At first it looked like he was going to be out, but AJ was late with the tag. Seems like a no-brainer to risk a challenge on a scoring play, potentially the most valuable call he could have made that night. Brewers were soooo lucky to win that night, but if RR would have challenged this, he could have spared his players a lot of exposure to that nasty wind and cold in Boston.

Given how new replay is and how managers are still finding their feet on this, I wouldn't crucify RR too much. There'll be plays reviewed that shouldn't be and vise-versa for the first part of the season but it'll settle down by mid-year.
