For all the Mets fans who subscribe to Patriot Media as your cable provider, there is an online petition that you can sign that may carry some potential weight with the cable company.

Patriot Media, the local cable company for about 80,000 customers in central New Jersey (Hunterdon, Somerset, Morris and Mercer counties) currently has no plans to offer SportsNet NY to its subscribers - which will eliminate the chance to see about 120+ Mets games this season. A petition requesting this channel has been started online.

I have called Patriot Media and spoken with a supervisor who said they are aware of the petition and that it is a good way to get the channel. If they see enough demand, they will take action.

To the Patriot Media customers who sign the petition -Please give your first and last name. I know everyonehas good intentions in trying to help out, but a petition filled with first name only Patriot Media customers will not carry much weight. To those who are not Patriot Media customers - please identify
yourself as such - pretending to be a customer will not help. You can show your support by selecting No to the "are you a customer" question and posting a comment. Thanks again to everyone for helping out.

I live in Upstate New York but signed the petition hoping it may help out all the Mets fans that could be affected by this decision by Patriot Media, I urge all Mets fans to do the same and maybe Patriot Media will take notice and offer Sports Net New York to the Mets fans in this region of Central Jersey

Thank you for the petition I will fill it out, I just hope it works. I talked to the president of Patmedia yesterday and he didn't sound too hopeful that the deal would get done. They did a survey of 3000 customers about dropping MSG and Fox Sports(which are useless in my mind now) and adding SNY to their cable basic, the majority of the customers said no they wanted there crummy Knicks and there hockey. This is a very tough area for Mets fans because most out here are Yankees and Phillies fans, plus in the winter they want there basketball and hockey. I'm a baseball fan I want the Mets and I also buy the extra MLb package, I'm stuck with these other channels on cable basic that I could care less about but these other people don't want the SNY on there because it will cost them $2 more. Patmedia because of this doesn't want to charge everyone with cable basic, so they want to put SNY on there sports tier which cost about $10 a month and has nothing on it.
So every Mets fan who has Patmedia is between a rock and a hard place.
