While I'm glad that someone on the Mets said this, the last person I'd expect the line to come from would be CBel. In my mind, he wouldn't say it unless he was about 100% sure that he'd be one of the main figures, if not the main figure, in making it happen.
Let's assume that he does get the sort of reception in CBP that Jimmy Rollins got in Shea last year (and will probably get again this year). People concentrate on him . . . and Carlos Delgado has less pressure on him. Same for Moises Alou, Ryan Church, Luis Castillo, and Brian Schneider having less pressure on them. Johan seems to want the pressure. Pedro . . . well, we've seen Pedro and pressure before (BTW, he said that he feels as good as he did in the 1997-2000 years, when he wan three Cy Youngs.). If the 2006 playoffs didn't put pressure on John Maine and Ollie Perez, I don't know what would. They seemed to handle it alright. The only one I remotely worry about where it concerns pressure is Billy Wagner.
I tend to think that CBel will be alright with his proclamation. The 'tude of the Mets this year will see to that (Erase any memories of last September).
