  • First Mets game

    Hi guys,

I'm coming out to New York in september from England and am thinking of coming to see the Mets play Washington, but as a newbie to baseball i've got a few questions....

Firstly, where is a good place to sit in the ground? Can you still see properly in the upper tears or are you too far away there?

Also, how far in advance do I need to buy tickets to be able to get a decent spot? Will I need to buy them soon or will I be able to buy them when I get to New York a few days before hand?

By them as far in advance as possible. The Mets have already sold a lot of tickets this year. The earlier you buy tickets, the better seats you are going to be able to get.

The upper deck is fine, but you should try and get as close to the bottom of the upper deck as possible. The earlier you buy, the more likely that is. Particularly if you are looking to go on a weekend, where they are more likely to sell out.

I'd avoid the back of the mezzanine and the back of the loge. They have better pricing because the overhand from the section above blocks your view of anything hit in the air. Even seats in the mezzanine that are not discounted may be obstructed view if they are a little bit back. The mezzanine is the same price as the upper box - I'd take the upper box over the mezzanine, unless you happen to be in one of the first few rows of the mezzanine

If you are looking at September 9 or 10 vs. Washington, those games are in their "value plan". The Mets price games differently dependent on opponent, and those are the cheapest you'll find. In fact, you can get a ticket for $5.
