Attention Mets Posters

Ok, there has been a lot of tension here the last few weeks and some of the threads are getting out of control with name calling and flaming, etc...

This needs to stop and we need to keep it civil or I will just continue to delete and edit posts.. If it continues posters will simply be suspended.. Simple as that!

We have posters, good posters, that no longer want to be here any longer because they feel that they will be attacked if they make a statement that others do not agree with.. Thats crap!

I have no problem with different opinions or even if you guys are negative with this team.. But to flame one another is unacceptable and will no longer be tolerated!

If you want to have a good debate, I'm all for that. All I ask is that we keep it civil.. If you dont like what someone is saying and may not agree, just ignore them.

After all, we all love the Mets, not just the way they are playing right now

Good pep talk skipper!!

We did lose a valuable poster to the Mets forum. NOBODY should feel threatened, NOBODY should be afraid to post how they feel for fear of being made fun of, or degraded. Yes, this is frustrating, yes this is NOT how the season should be thus far, and yes, they could play better. The blowout last night was the icing on the cake. We need to stick together. Fans of other teams on this site are reading all of the bickering, negative posts and are laughing at us. We don't want that. Let's forget about last year, and look forward to a much better season. Sure, we are not performing up to par, but things (hopefully) will get only better!

Running the bases of life has had me on hiatus for a while, but I should be poppin' in a bit more often from here on.

I agree, It's the same thing as the blog...i dont feel like posting on their because of the hostility towards other posters...i havent experienced anything negative here yet...which is good.

Actually, I think this thread serves a real purpose in that Met fans in particlular have a unique character. The only other fan base I can think of that even compares to the style of Met-fan ferver is Cub-fan ferver. Maybe the Red Sox, as well. They probably have a sticky over there, too, saying the same thing. (I dunno, I haven't looked).

Seriously, Met fans, more than many other fans of teams, sometimes go beyond verbal civilry, even though they love and root for the same team. I'm glad this thread remains. Metsie fans need to be reminded, which they are by the thread's title each time they enter the forum, and it's good for newbies to read it.
