Next Met Manager

Willie Randolph will never see the new manager's office at Citi. There's every reason to believe he's gone by the trading deadline.

Justified or not, right or wrong, it really doesn't matter at this point. The sharks are circling, the press is chattering loudly & Miniya gave him a vote of confidence, which we all know is the kiss of death.

Two Questions:
1) Who do you think will be the next manager ?
2) Who would you like to see as manager ?

In various different settings, including this board, I've heard the following names batted around over the last few days;

Bobby Valentine
Ken Oberkfell
Howard Johnson
Sam Perrlozzo
Wally Backman
Lee Mazzilli

After you share with us when this happened, you can tell us where the thread is that deals with posters opinions on who will be the next manager ?

Please do not link to a post dealing with why the current manager should be fired as that is a different subject - but I'm sure you realise that since you're assuming moderator duties !

Its not that big of a deal.. Similar subjects but asking different questions... I dont really see a big deal either way about it so lets just let it go..

Just casue the team is running through a tough stretch, does not mean it's all his fault..and he brought us to the playoffs once! (one out from the WS) and he can and will do it again...

Also, heres a sign that he's a good manager..

today's game, he was SCREAMING and YELLING from the dugout at Castillo to change position...he finally does, what happens?? ground ball RIGHT at Castillo

Willie KNOWS what he's doing..the team is just going through a rough stretch and it's the media that's blaming this all on him.

According to the meeting held before the rainout on Friday, Willie's job is NOT in jeopardy.

And, as it turns out, the meeting may have done some good. Always nice to see the Metsies beat up on those other guys on the mainland, especially on their home turf. :applaud:
