I just realized that he has been in our system since 2001. Why have the Mets held on to him for so long?

Well, he started out as a catcher but has since converted to pitching (I think in 2006). He throws an 88-90 mph 2-seam fastball as well as a knuckleball. Though he struggled with the homerun ball at Binghamton last year, he has only been throwing the knuckler full time for two seasons and is still working on perfecting it. However, he does apparently have good stuff, so the Mets are sticking with him.
