  • Mets interested in Sheets?

According to Newsday and even the Mets own website, the Mets are entering into talks about signing Sheets. Could this be a bargaining move to get Perez to sign cheaper, or is this interest legit? I would love to see a HEALTHY Shees in our rotation. This guy would be a #2 starter who pitches like an ace. Any thoughts for, or against?

I think it is actually for both reasons you stated. It gives them some leverage with Perez, and if they can get Sheets for a one year incentive driven contract I would be all for it.

I am 100% for signing Sheets and Perez. The rotation right now is not reliable at all after Santana. Way too many question marks

    1) Was Pelfrey for real?
    2) Is Maine healthy enough to last the whole season with being effective?
    3) Niese???????????????????????
    4) Redding...on the surface double digit wins isnt bad with DC, but his supporting numbers are ugly

Without 2-3 guys stepping up as currently constructed or getting Perez/Sheets I do not project the Mets higher than third in the NL East.
