Been watching it for the last couple of hours on SNY. Wow does it bring back memories. My favorite was the 1984 episode, because I remember that team so well, and because you could see the beginnings of greatness in that team. What are your thoughts on this series? Any episodes you like better than others, and why?

unknown fan "good they got three men on base"

I very much enjoy them -- as brief as they are. It's great to get a rather in-depth glimpse of our team at the times of its life.

Anyone know the most recent episode created?
    Put it in the books.

they are great. I was lucky enough to accumulate all of them over the years. I pop them in from time to time. great stuff.

I believe one was made for every single year from 1962 to 1990....with the exception of 1970 and 1978. I have NEVER seen those 2 yearly highlight films anywhere, despite looking far and wide.

I remember occasionally seeing them on TV. I don't recall them ever being offered for sale (not that they weren't). Where did you get them? Are they available on VHS or DVD?

The 1963 episode, with all the footage taken inside the Polo Grounds, is my favorite. Particularly, Duke Snider Night. That was the best! Too bad they didn't include a sound bite of him speaking. Can't wait to see the 1962 episiode.

I inherited some from my grandfather who taped them off the tv....and the rest I actually got off ebay (back during the window when sellers were selling stuff like that on the site.....to my knowledge you cant do that anymore as i havent seen them in a few years now)

Wonder why they would leave out '70, of all years.

But I definitely envy your accumulation. Can I come by sometime? I promise I'll bring a case or two and a coupla pizzas.

I mean I'm sure the 70 and 78 were made....it would just be too strange to make one for every year except those 2. But from what I understand, film was kept pretty badly and uncared for in those days (especially baseball films, unfortunately the NFL did ALOT better job on that)....so my guess is the 70 and 78 were just lost or damaged over the years.

The year 1978 and highlights dont belong in the same sentence when talking about the Mets, but those were the days I lived and died with every win/loss. Dying mostly.

Do you mean to say you cannot (or did) do the Willie Montanez home run trot.

Montanez's revenge? Bobby V copied him on one of his (very few) homeruns.

And because of that, MLB had to change the rules so one has to run around the bases while looking forward.
