I went with Mr. Devine. Despite his short tenure with the team, he did a lot of good stuff.

Hehe. ...Actually, those are both mine. No matter how anyone feels about him right now, Fred's been with the team, win or lose, for over 30 years, including the '80s. And if we'd won in '06, '07, and/or '08, there'd be more support from the fickle Met fans. Me? I think he qualifies.

And to be frank, Omar has yet to show me he's not one of the best GM's the Mets have had. Personally, I think his hands were tied when not going after starting pitching this past offseason. Between not wanting to overpay or give up yet more young prospects, his lack of action was perhaps the best action possible. So, he's still, in my eyes, the guy who turned the Mets from losers in '04 to winners in '06 onward.

I'd like to know the reasoning behind the vote for Tony Bernazard.

Same here. Bernazard was the only person Gr8Beldini voted for and while Bing Devine is in with or without him, Joe McIlvaine would get in without his vote. So why only Tony Bernazard?

Because Gr8Beldini did not explain his vote per the rules, his vote is disqualified. Thus, Bing Devine and Joe McIlvaine have been elected.
