Voting Rules and Requirements for Election

You may select as many players from this list to be elected into the Our Mets Hall of Fame as you want. A player must receive at least 75% of the vote to be elected to the Our Mets Hall of Fame.

    Vote Duration

This vote will run for seven days (until November 12) or until all of the VC members have voted, whichever comes first. However, at least four out of the eight active VC members must vote for the voting to come to a close - so, if only three out of the eight members have voted by the end of day seven, voting will continue until at least one more member has voted.

How a Player Can No Longer be Eligible for the VC

If a player is voted off during the initial ballot in two consecutive VC elections, they will no longer be eligible for the VC. If a player makes it past the first cut but doesn't get more than 50% of the vote in the final round in three consecutive VC elections, he too will be no longer eligible for the VC.

New rules added during VC election #3, vote 2:

If in a series of three consecutive elections a player: A) makes it past the first cut but doesn't garner 50% in the final round of the in the first election, B) doesn't make it past the first cut in the second election, and C) makes it past the first cut but doesn't garner 50% of the vote in the final round of third election, he will no longer be eligible for the VC.

If in a series of three consecutive elections a player A) doesn't make it past the first cut in the first election, B) makes it past the first cut but doesn't garner 50% of the vote in the final round of second election C) doesn't make it past the first cut in the third election, he will no longer be eligible for the VC.

    Would You Like to Join?

Would you like to be a member of Our Mets Hall of Fame Veteran's Committee? To become one, you must have participated in the regular OMHOF balloting for 10 consecutive ballots or you must have voted in 15 ballots total with consecutive votes not necessary to be an OMHOFVC voting member. If you meet those qualifications, you may ask to become a VC member. Your request will then be considered by current VC members, who will vote whether or not they approve or deny your request to join. If 40% approve, you are a member. If you are denied, you may reapply 15 days after the announcement of your denial.*

If you are approved for membership, you will be eligible to start voting in the next VC election, which will be concurrent to election 60 (and, overlap with election 61 by a few days, if a second round is necessary). **All current members are grandfathered into the VC and do not have to fit these qualifications.

*The italicized rules are new, having been approved in a vote 4-1 by the eligible voting VC members prior to Veteran's Committee election 4.

I might add Pelfrey. I'll explain my votes in detail later on. It's 2:41 AM right now and I need some sleep.

Really noone merits it but Pedro gets a vote more for what he symbolized albeit briefly than for his one and a half or so seasons of good. Magadan was the only other one who was close. Trachsel maybe should go in just for nort being a selfish baby, but going to the minors to work on his craft and coming back an improved pitcher unlike a certain troll and his equally vile advisor.

Hodges was a Mets icon. I think Pelf will make it into the regular Our Mets HOF with another good season or two.
