    LOL

Putting the whammy on the whammy. Sounds good to me, heh.

John, if Johan pitches a no-hitter tonight, I will forever defer to you as God.
    Put it in the books.

The Mets already have a no-hitter. It says so right here. roof:

That would be nice. I've got plans to go to that game (Wednesday night v. Cincinnati).

I've only gone to two games so far this year but the Mets' record in games I've attended is 2-0...

Considering Santana can't pitch past the 6th inning right now, I am not sure if he would be my pick to do it.

                Let me just note this:

                Jose, Jose, Jose, Jose.

                Jose.

                Jose.
Cleon Jones catches a deep fly ball in F. Scott Fitzgerald's Valley of the Ashes, and a second-grader smiles in front of the black and white television.

I don't get it. Why would the card say something like that? Methinks they should stick to the simple things, like "During the offseason, Richie Hebner is a gravedigger."

Anyway, I've learned the wishful thinking behind this thread. Last night was the Mets' 8,000th game. Tonight will be 8,001. I think John was hoping the Mets would get their first no-no in their 8,000th game.

The Mets are indeed the only team without a no-hitter in its history. However, there is one team that has gone longer than 8,000 games without throwing one. The Phillies had one in 1906, then their next was in 1964. It's the longest span any team has gone without a no-hitter in MLB history.

It's just one of the gimmicky cards that Topps has produced lately. They're probably trying to create a buzz.

Santana is scheduled to pitch tomorrow night against the Cincinnati Red Legs. Wouldn't it be awesome if he were to celebrate tomorrow's presumptive announcement of the Mets' hosting the 2013 All Star Game by being the first Met to... uh... well, according to baseball superstition you're not supposed to actually say it (though I think that just applies during the game, but why upset the gods?), so let's just say it would be awesome if Santana were to celebrate tomorrow's presumptive announcement of the Mets' hosting the 2013 All Star Game by being the first Met to... uh... do something that no player has ever done while wearing a Mets uniform.

And should this miracle happen, we'd be doubly blessed with the knowledge that unlike the last individual who did something that no player had ever done before while wearing a Mets uniform, in his first appearance at Citi Field following that achievement, Mr. Santana will not be wearing a Marlins uniform!!!!!

Actually the Padres also don't have a no-hitter in its history as well.

I tell you every game I go to and I'm sure we all go to that we all say before the game that this is the game the Mets
will get their first no-hitter until the first hit is given up.Speaking of records of going to the Mets games the Mets record
in games I've gone to so far this year is 4-2,milladrive's is 2-0,and a mutual friend of milladrive's and I is 6-1.Strangely
enough Frank Francisco pitches extremely well in games that the three of us go to.In the games that I have gone to
Francisco has 4 saves in 4 appearances and hasn't given up a run in 3 2/3 innings. In the games that milladrive has gone to
Francisco has 2 saves in 2 appearances and hasn't given up a run in 2 innings. In the games that our mutual friend has gone
to Francisco has 5 saves and 1 loss in 6 appearances and has only given up one run in 5 2/3 innings.Francisco should give
the three of us a lifetime pass to go to the Met games so that he can continue to pitch well because he seems to pitch well
when the three of us are at the ballpark.

Oversight. I corrected myself in the Trivia forum when I asked the question there about the Phillies, but I neglected to update my post here. Good catch, Joe.
