As a kid, those Mets teams brought me a lot of joy as well.Particularly from 1969-76 when I was between the ages of 5 and 12.Although in 1969-70 I was a casual fan that enjoyed the reactions of everyone around me.By 1971 when I was 7 I
became a sports fan of all the major sports particularly the Mets,Jets, and Knicks. If only I became a sports fan two years
earlier I would have enjoyed more championships in a 16 month period(3 from January 1969 through May 1970)than I would
have the rest of my life put together(2 in May 1973 and October 1986).Like I said Yost was a great guy and we will miss him.

    RIP Mr. Yost

I always admired him. He was getting on base through walks years before they became popular. His last atbat in the Majors he took a base on balls. He was also the Angels first batter in their team history and a WW2 Vet. I was a big Cecil travis fan and he was the last living player who was a teammate of Cecil Travis.

Like somebody mentioned in a different thread, I also believe he would have gotten more Hall of Fame support had he played outside Griffith Stadium.
