  • Justin Upton

There has been some talk in the past day or so of the Mets being interested in Upton. I am all for it, but he is not going to come cheap. I believe it will cost them Wheeler or Harvey plus some other expendable pieces.

I would trade Harvey or Wheeler (obviously not both) to get Upton. Upton has a huge upside and under control for the next 3 years. He didnt have a stellar 2012 but the talent is there.

The Mets would have Wright, Davis, Upton in the middle of the order. Not too bad.

    Any thoughts?

Wait...before you give your thoughts....PLEASE dont be THAT WFAN caller that is going to offer two baseballs and a rosin bag for Upton. Justin Upton is going to cost you.

With Upton's turndown, along with 'Zona's acception of a decent but not great deal, I expect about 20 teams now being not only interested, but willing to deal what they at one time didn't think could get a deal done. Word is, Atlanta's the team to look out for between need and prospects to give, but don't sleep on small-market teams like Pittsburgh who match up rather nicely.

I'd move Wheeler or Niese plus others for Upton, yes. I like Harvey, prefer to keep him. But if you must, you must...

I've heard Wilmer Flores' name being thrown around. Perhaps him and familia would be a start?

          I'd rather keep the pitching.

I like this. All the talk of losing Wheeler or Harvey has me a bit nervous. It's guys like Flores and Familia that can, imho, be good starting chips.
            Put it in the books.

We're never gonna get Upton for Flores and Familia. At least consider trading Niese or one of those two prospect.

You don't get a star in return without giving up atleast one blue chip prospect.

Unless you're dealing with the DBacks who already gave up a star for a SS who can't hit.

I think it's ok to trade either Wilson or Pulsipher for an everyday talent like Justin Upton.

                      Bauer? Hardly a star.

                        Mets fans are so delusional.

Not all top pitching prospects turn into what Generation K turned into.

Milla -- those two wont land you Upton. I think its going to have to be one of the two big names...PLUS.

Typical that I post two names as " A START" and people instantly jump on it. Like I said those two are "A START". Meaning you call up the DBacks and drop those names first, and move from there. meaning names get taken out or put in, or added. No were did I ever say they would do it for those two. Sheesh.
