    Dan Szymborski's ZiPS projections, which have typically appeared in the pages of Baseball Think Factory, are being released at FanGraphs this year. Below are the projections for the New York Mets.

    Ugly

    There's hope though.
    Travis d'Arnaud projects to hit: .257/.305/.424 with 13 homers for 2 WAR
    Wilmer Flores .253/.292/.383, 1.2 WAR is getting close.
    Juan Lugares .252/.292/.364, 1.2 WAR is as well.

    Matt Harvey 3.80 ERA, 3.89 FIP, 2.2 WAR in 162 innings and
    Zack Wheeler 3.81 ERA, 3.83 FIP, 1.9 WAR in 149 innings

    are two of the Mets' best pitchers.


    Not this season, or next, or the next, but there's hope

    In short, the team would be better off with Benny Agbayani in left field.
    The Mets have the best, smartest fans in baseball.
