Nobody is going to lose sleep over losing Hairston because he just isnt that good....although the Mets best outfielder but when compared to the rest of baseball....not that good.

Bourn would be a collossal waste of money.

If they Mets sign Bourne, and didnt attempt to get Upton....I will jump on the anti Sandy bandwagon with Strawman.

Regardless of what you think of Hairston he was their most productive outfielder.

I agree on a good team Hairston probably couldnt start and he is a 4th OF'er, but this isnt a good team and he was their best OF'er. So today the Mets lost their best OF'er.
We're just saying it differently. No question he was the Mets best OF. I suspect the Mets have pitchers who could start in this OF.

No real biggie, but to me it is more important that they lost a relatively productive right handed bat.

If they actually sign Bourn, isn't he left handed too? Solid defense, ok bat, real good speed, but lefty?
The lineup would be something like a lefty convention.....Tejada (r) Murphy (l) Wright (r) Davis (l) Duda (l) Buck (r) Bourn (l) Baxter/Captain Kirk(l). Not balanced at all even if Cowhill (r) actually plays.
