Last night's win gives him 271, passing Burleigh Grimes for 31st alltime.

BTW, only Bret Saberhagen has 2 Cys and isn't in the Hall from what I have found or remember. All of today's multiple winners are locks, IMO.

(Please take note that I've recently become aware of how this quote applies to a certain US president. This is a coincidence, and the quote was first added to this signature too far back to remember when).

Saturday against the Marlins, Glavine pitched his 2402nd career strikeout, passing Dennis Eckersley for 34th all time. He has the 7th most strikeouts of all active pitchers. Next up is Luis Tiant with 2416.

Can we re-name this thread the "Tom Glavine Milestones Thread"?

I'm glad Tommy is having his late career resurgence. This should remove any doubt about his HoF credentials.
Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.-Crash Davis

Will he be returning next year? If so, he'll surely reach 300 wins and definitely be a HoFer.
