Phillies GM, Matt Klentak said this week that Herrera had been added to the Phillies' 40 man roster but he will have to fight his way on to the team's 25 man Opening Day roster and fight for his playing time. Whether he has a chance to regain is status as an everyday outfielder remains unclear. He faces a great challenge, now, if he is ever going to return to stardom.

Herrera is way better than Haseley at this point in their careers.

I suspect they'll retain Herrera, if nothing else than to give him time to recapture some value so they can flip him later. Adam Haseley has to be the choice for starting CF heading into Spring Training.

Phillies Outfielder, Odubel Herrera is now the team's Forgotten Man. He last played on May 26 and the team-enforced penalty for domestic violence cost him the last 2/3 of the 2019 season and I suspect he lost all of the pay that he was due for that time period. He was reinstated on the team's 40 man roster after the season, but the team is mum on any plans for him either to return to the team in 2020 or to be dealt away this offseason. Herrera was a 2016 All-Star, has hit .276 lifetime, and his career high over five years is in the .290s. He's in his prime years and will not turn 28 years old until 12/29/2019. What Now?
