Why not promote some of the organization's best minor league talent ( OF-Greg Golson, and Pitchers- Carlos Carrasco, Josh Outman and Andrew (Drew) Carpenter from AA Reading to AAA Lehigh Valley. They certainly can do no worse than the players who opened the season in Allentown, PA (Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs - AAA International League). The franchise is off to an 0-10 start, disappointing a lot of fans who were excited enough about a new minor league team coming to Allentown, to sell out its new stadium for the first several games, only to watch the team fail miserably in the season's first two weeks. It's kind of a disgrace and the Lehigh Valley area really deserves better representation. Among the Phillies organization's top prospects, only catcher, Jason Jaramillo began the season at AAA, and it's no secret that the a lot of the Phils' players at AAA are "minor league cannon fodder" without much chance of ever reaching the majors, even briefly, and that the organization's best prospects are in AA Reading and High-A,Clearwater. It's not exactly force-feeding some of their best prospects at Reading by moving them up one notch in the system to the highest level of minor league competition. It might also create a little excitement in the Allentown area, that the organization's best prospects have arrived at AAA, instead of the current " bunch of stiffs", that the Phillies have no major league plans for.
