"Who will Pat Gillick pick up from the scrap heap next?"
Basically, it's a game of predicting which struggling or subpar player Pat Gillick will either trade for, claim off waivers, purchase their contract from another team, or sign as a free agent.
Rules of this game: It can NOT be a big-name player, (i.e. Derek Jeter) but it can be a player past his prime. (i.e. Jeremy Giambi, oh wait that was Ed Wade who got him
)
Let me start out: I predict that Pat Gillick will get Anthony Reyes from the Cardinals through a trade for cash considerations or a PTBNL. End result? He goes 3-7, 6.28 ERA, and lots of angry fans threatening him from the bleachers. That's why you get one shot in Philadelphia. Do bad, and you'll have people hating you.
