The "Lieberthal is Terrible" Thread

After watching game two, I will be very suprised if
1. Lieberthal ever starts again
2. Liberthal ever gets to play in the MLB again.
3. Lieberthal ever gets to hit again.

Seriously, he can't throw out a runner (he actually tried this time, look at how good that was.), he doesn't understand how to bat properly (especially evident by his last at-bat.) and he can not hit and he can not catch. He messed up numerous times with the pitchers.

I am very excited about our backup catcher starting.

Though I agree with you, unfortunately I won't be surprised to see lieby's name in the lineup, specifically more often then I would like this year.

Its questionable they would have won, but he singlehandedly lost the game last night. It was painful to watch a quality at-bat by David Bell of all people get wasted by watching Lieb swing at anything he could reach - even Rollins would have taken that last pitch.

We know dead horse when we beat one.

As far as 2nd best...arguably being the operative word there. Mike's been sub-par in the clutch the last two years, which is why he's hitting 8th now, and with the game on the line you might want to consider hitting for that #8 guy, he's there for a reason.

Lieby's too old to claim anxiety in pressure situations, but seems that in the clutch he gets antsy and swings at everything - not basing this on one game, this carries into last year as well.

Lieberthal should just be cut and paid his entire 7.5 million after they find a young catcher via trade. It's just tiring at this point. It's an insult to us, the fans that this clown is on the team anymore.

Vendor at Sunday's games

I posted this on a different thread, then realized it belongs here. At Sunday's double header a vendor came around hawking packs pf players' pictures and yelled "Pictures of all your favorite Phillies and Mike Liberthal"

Yes and no doubt you are forgetting they got rid of Estrada for Millworm, who should've moved the oft-injured Lieby, and the intransigence to allow any of their farm system catchers to get MLB, AB's which would've also moved him on, I don't hate the guy after all he's a career .275, 21 HR kinda guy you can get 130 games out of but that didn't happen til he was 30 in 2002, and last year he dropped to 118 games, Fasano dropped the easiest pop foul last night get him off the team...dreadful...bring up Ruiz.
