  • Taylor Moves Up To Triple A - Too Good To Trade even For Halladay?

Michael Taylor was called up to AAA Lehigh Valley this week, immediately after playing in the AA All-Star game.
His 15 HR, 65 RBI, and .333 average at Reading (AA) each ranked third in their categories in the Eastern League.
At 6'-6", 260lbs. he's been compared to Ryan Howard (Less powerful, but more athletic than Howard and likely to hit for a higher average one day than Ryan). He's been a .300 hitter at each step through the farm system. He was also drafted out of Stanford University like Phils' rookie John Mayberry Jr. Taylor was also fifth in the EL in stolen bases and runs very well for a big man.
He's been mentioned as part of a trade package to Toronto for Roy Halladay, but I'd hope the Phils resist the temptation to trade away a 23 year-old potential star and strong five tool player in Taylor. I'd really like to see what he can do in the majors next year as a Phillie.
