  • 2012 Phils - the rest of the way (could be epic fall)

102 wins last year. Let that sink in. 102.

The 2012 Phillies are on pace for about 73 wins. Then again, that was when Hunter and Shane were in the lineup.

Now, 70 wins could be an issue. They'd have to go 25-35, which isn't much less of a winning percentage they've had all season. And replacing 2/3 of the OF with question marks and AAAA players doesn't really look to improve on those odds.

It's going to be interesting the final two months. Will the sellout streak be over? It's tough to bank on sellouts when the team's already losing and nothing of immediate value is in there as a replacement. And pitchers don't create sellouts.

This could be one of the largest drops in winning percentage in the history of the sport. We could be literally talking about a 40% drop. That's insane.

Add in questions about Halladay's health, Howard's creaky ankle and Chase's shriveling lower extremities, and there has to be questions to 'how does this get turned around?'.

Amazingly, the Phils did pretty much everything well in a game for the first time I can remember this season. Lee was the Lee we've been used to seeing. Dom Brown couldn't start because his flight was delayed, but he did get in as a PH.

Keep running these guys out there and see what they can do.
