Minor Leauges: Reading Unveils New Team Name & Logo

Not being a fan of gimmicks, I agree.

But, I'm sure their marketing group ran polls and such to somehow come up with this idea. I assume it's more "kid friendly" as that's a large portion of their base.

They used to have a train on the Reading Phillies caps back in the 90s and a link to the railroad would have made more sense than the name they wound up choosing. The Best option however, would have been to leave the name alone.

I really thought they'd go with something original here - maybe linking Reading the town with the railroad or such. But they're now known as the Reading Fightin Phils
