Since the original posting of this list there has been just one death (pitcher, Jack Spring) among 123 players over the last six months among former Phillies ranging in age from their early 70s to their late 90s. That seems rather remarkable to me.

Players are added to the Wikipedia List of oldest living players on their 88th birthday. OF- Tommy Brown was just added to the list today since he turns 88 today - (12/6/2015). Brown was a Phillie in 1951 and 1952 and he was in the majors off and on from 1944 to 1954. As of this date he ranks as the 123rd oldest currently living MLB player.

Wally Westlake, a 10 year major league third baseman/outfielder (1947-1956) , a member of the 1956 Phillies, and a 1951 National League All-Star has recently become one of the 10 oldest living major leaguers. He is due to turn 96 on November 8.

                    Rearranged list to save space.
Found a few previously omitted players.
Extended included birthdates from 12/1942 to 5/1943.

I believe that the Phillies' total of 22 living players born before 1930 is the highest of any MLB team.

Pitcher, Bob Kuzava (1923-2017) passes away.

May 17: Bob Kuzava, a righthanded pitcher on the Phillies 1955 team has passed away less than two weeks shy of his 94th birthday (May 28). The well-traveled Mr. Kuzava played for eight major league teams (half of the 16 teams then in existence), including the inaugural Baltimore Orioles 1954 team and three World's Champion early 1950s New York Yankees teams. He was above .500 lifetime, going 49-44, with a 4.05 earned run average between 1946 and 1957. In 213 games he made 99 starts, pitched 34 Complete Games, and threw seven Shut Outs. He was listed by Wikipedia as the 20th oldest living major leaguer up until the time of his passing.
1949, when he went 10-6 for the Chicago White Sox and 1951 where he went 11-7 in a year split between the Washington Senators and the New York Yankees may have been his top years. Kuzava made relief appearances for the New York Yankees in the 1951, 1952 and 1953 World Series.
He was the third oldest living Phillies behind only Wally Westlake, 96 and Solly Hemus, 94.

As of today, Oct. 5, 2017, the Phillies have 20 living players who were born before 1930. That's probably more than any other major league team.
