Now if only the season ended today, the streak would be broken.

Let's check back at the end of April and see what their record is looking like. That's the first real indicator of if they have turned the corner. Last night's game wasn't exactly a convincing win, but a W is a W is a W is a W.

Keep in mind they were 12-12 last April (and 14-10 in 2002) and those seasons didn't turn out so well. I think I'll check the win-loss record at Memorial Day to see how close the Bucs are to "turning the corner"

Well 2-1 after atlanta. Here's hoping 4-2 or better going into the home opener!

mlb.tv if you have a fast internet connection. I know Direct TV has the "extra innings" package as well. But both cost $$ (don't know exactly how much) Maybe there's a good sportsbar near you that could put the Pirate games on.

Let's see how they respond to that 12-inning disaster. Just a feeling, but I think the wheels are shaky and could fall off before April is out. Bay and Laroche are MIA, something is very wrong with Gorzelanny, and the bullpen's already getting torched in the first week of the season.

^ Typical start to a Pirates regular season. Hopefully they'll give people something to talk about this year...

I don't think the pens getting "torched" (the 8th inning of the 2nd game in Atlanta notwithstanding) but they are getting overworked. At this rate, they may not make it to memorial day. I don't think I've seen a team have 4 extra inning games (and 1 game ended with a bottom of the 9th walk-off homer) in their first 8 games. Of course I believe 3 of those games shouldn't have gone to extra innings, but the Pen has done a good job so far. If only the bats could come up with the "winning" hit instead of the "tying" hit. I've liked the fight this team has shown thru the first week and a half of the season.

I guess it helps to have the extra pitcher, although that hurts the bench.
