  • Getting a winning season

For 20 years it has been extremely difficult for the Pirates to finish above .500. The last time it happened, Jim Leyland was manager. Is it time the Pirates try to lure him back from the Tigers?
The playoffs should expand eventually, but only if MLB itself expands.

See my blog for more info.

The Pirates need to stop issuing at-bats to batters with sub-300 OBP's. Outside of McCutchen, the lineup isn't very good with only four regular batters with an OPS over .700: McCutchen, Jones, Walker and Alvarez.

The Pirates were also 28-29 in one-run games.
The Mets have the best, smartest fans in baseball.
