Ken Hennelly scouted for the Padres. He died in November 2014, but his death was not reported here.

Kenneth J. Hennelly, 84, of Whiting, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Kenneth was born on Feb. 24, 1930 in Jersey City. He was raised in Jersey City, and after raising his family and residing in South Plainfield, he moved to Whiting, NJ in 2001. He was signed to a minor league baseball contract to play for the Boston Braves, and played with Wytheville Senators in the Blue Ridge League. Kenneth was a long time major league baseball scout for the San Diego Padres. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Dick Hager also scouted for the Padres. He died last December, but his death went unreported here, as well.

Dick began his scouting career in 1954 with the Washington Senators. In 1961 Dick and his family moved to Oregon and then California to scout for the Minnesota Twins and Kansas City Royals Baseball Clubs. Dick scouted for the Los Angeles Dodgers for five years beginning in 1975. He felt this was the best major league club in baseball. He then went on to scout for nine years with the San Diego Padres. He held positions as Assistant Scouting Director and Special Assistant to the General Manager, his good friend Jack McKeon. He also enjoyed his time as the Scouting Director for the Houston Astros from 1991-1996. Dick spent the last seven years of his career divided between the Cincinnati Reds and Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Clubs and retired at the end of the 2003 season.
