"Randy Winn had a scorching [2005] September, leading the Majors with 51 hits, an astounding .447 average and an .877 slugging percentage to earn National League Player of the Month honors, and [today] it was announced that the 31-year-old outfielder has been named to the 30-man U.S. team."

Can we say all-time fluke hot streak? If Wynn does that for half a season I'll eat a bug.

But it's great to have a Giants' player on Team USA.

Randy was on a streak when he joined the Giants but he is also a very dependable player. The Mariners were crazy to let him go. Great player and great person.
