so, closer to 3 than to 2?
(consider that just over 2,000,000 tickets have been already sold thru season ticket packages alone.)
the giants attendance'll probably be right at the 3-million mark.

possibly you are unaware that 2008 season tickets were tethered to last season's all-star game tickets.
I was unaware that 2008 tickets were tied to the AS Game, thanks for the correction. So I am guessing that the decline will be in 2009? Bonds will not be a Tiger when they visit the Bay Area, Dombrowski has denied any interest.

Maybe the Giants will win some games and draw the crowds. There are still San Francisco Giants fans out there. :candle:

thinking about "bonds" and "25" some more: the white sox, tigers and of course the athletics visit this season. bonds might still be signed to any of those 3 or a senior circuit team, and it would be kinda weird to have a visiting player honored there.
i think that once bonds is officially retired, things'll change.

Peter Magowan is on crack if he thinks the Giants will even come close to drawing 3 million. Bonds and the All Star game acccounted for probally 1 million in sales, none of that this year. I think my estimate may even be low. The fact is the Giants used Bonds to get what they wanted and now that he is of no use to them, see ya.

it is fitting that the left field wall no longer has the aaron ruth mays bonds mural: bonds is no longer chasing any number. it is strange, though, to not see "762" or "25" anywhere at the yard. i went to last night's game and the only bonds images or reminders are the bronze casts out on the portwalk.

i expect that the giants will honor bonds with a ceremony sometime this season, though.
in fact, plans are already in the works (they have been since last season) for a larger-than-lifesize bronze (like the mays, marichal and mccovey ones).

edit: i forgot about the gold glove plaques hanging above the left field bleachers.
