  • The first time you saw the hated Dodgers at Candlestick Park and/or Giants Park?

When was the first time you attended a game against the hated Dodgers at San Francisco? Was it at cavernous Candlestick Park, or was it at the scenic Giants Park? (never shall I call it AT&T Park!) For me, I have not attended any game against the Dodgers at either venue, not only because it's too far from St. Louis, it's also sold out all the time!

So, when was the first time you attended a game against the Giants' historical archenemy at SF?

The first time I saw the Giants play the Dodgers was on 04-15-1958, Opening Day at Seal Stadium. I was twelve years old and my dad took me to the game as a birthday present. It was the first ML game played in San Francisco and in fact the first ML game ever play on the West coast. The memories of that game will be with me for the rest of my life. Giants won 8-0.

Wow! What a wonderful experience you must have had. Do you have any momentos from that game? Ticket stub? A program? Photos?
Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.-Crash Davis

I don't remember the first time I saw the Giants and the Bums at Candlestick, that's got to be at least 40 years ago! Funny but one I do remember is Aug 1 1968 at Chavez Ravine where Marichal beat Drysdale 2-0 amd yes I do have my ticket stub!
“Well, I like to say I’m completely focused, right? I mean, the game’s on the line. It’s not like I’m thinking about what does barbecue Pop Chips and Cholula taste like. Because I already know that answer — it tastes friggin’ awesome!"--Brian Wilson
