  • Quick question about 1993

Who was on the 1993 Opening Day 25-man roster when they were playing against the St. Louis Cardinals at August A. Busch Memorial Stadium that season? I am just asking if anybody knows this, even though it was long ago (Fifteen years ago)

you probably are after the complete opening day 25.
here is my best guesstimate of that memorable team, participants in baseball's last true pennant race:

      rod beck
      mike benjamin
      todd benzinger
      buddy black
      barry bonds
      jeff brantley
      dave burba
      john burkett
      mike carreon
      will clark
      royce clayton
      craig colbert
      brian hickerson
      cap'n mike jackson
      darren lewis
      kirt manwaring
      dave martinez
      willie mcgee
      billy swift
      steve reed
      dave righetti
      kevin rogers
      robby thompson
      matt williams
      trevor wilson

      other notables, for various reasons:
      jim deshaies
      rikkert faneyte
john patterson (when he hit that home run i almost fell off my garage roof that i was replacing)
      salomon torres

Yep, I am after the Opening Day 25-man. And that looks to be very close enough. Thank you WCO&B.

Lots of homegrown talent on that team, that's for sure. That team could have won the WS had they made the post season.

And a mention of Faneyte, one of the best names in MLB history!
