  • Giants sweep D-Backs in AZ!?

What the heck? They go into the division leaders yard and just handle them. Zito has another decent start and they come from behind in the 8th and 9th to win? I just like the gumption that this team is showing!

The three game sweep was totally unexpected and impressive as well. The Giants don't give up. I think that's a testament to the influence of Rowand and Molina. It's just not with their actual performance on the field, which helps of course, but their attitudes as well.
Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.-Crash Davis

So Wags, are you willing to give Sabes a bit of credit for signing Rowand??? :hyper:

Sabean still overpaid for him. Rowand is more of a $6 million a year player than a $12 million per year player. If Sabean has signed Rowand to a $6 million per season contract I would give Sabean a . Given that, Rowand has been a good influence on the team. I'm not worried about Rowand for the next couple of years. I'm more concerned about the back end of the contract when Rowand may not be earning his salary.

Wait a minute. The same Giants team that was swept by Pittsburgh...sweeps a team like Arizona? Hold the phone there...I must be dreaming, or am I? I guess the Giants have the Diamondbacks' number this season, and next up is the Padres, the other rival. It should be a two-of-three in the Giants' favour...and Matt Cain is up against Maddux. Tonight should be a good game at the bay.
