          • it seems that the giants are gonna carry all five of their starters into the divisional playoffs... with one of the five being delegated to the bull pen.

who do ya think it'll be?

You beat me to it west coast! Until last night Timmy had been quite solid since the All Star break. He probably has one more full start left.

Sadly, it sure seems that way.
I love it when I'm wrong like that- I couldn't be happier that they clinched the division.

I am ready to eat humble pie whenever anyone would like- it'll never taste so good.

I can hardly wait for the postseason and next year- the Giants come back to New York for interleague at New Yankee Stadium- right after their series with the Mets.

Six games in a row for the Giants in New York? Seems like old times...

                    • wow, Zito goes 6ip today for his 14(!)th win! He's got to be about the best 5th starter in mlb.

And Marco Scutaro has to be about the best mid-season pickup. What a season he's having.

probably the team wanted to avoid to much media attention since that might distract the other players.

                        • Of Course we know Petco park is an extreme pitchers park

                          but today

                          1) The Padres hit 3 HR off Tim Lincecum there

                          2) then in the top of the 9th and the Padres leading 5-4, Padre closer Huston Street entered the game, he has been injured much of the year but he entered the game with 38 IP and just 14 hits allowed and zero home runs and was 23/23 in save opportunities. Then Xavier Nady lit him up for a solo home run, the first home run hit off him this year and his first blown save and two batters later Hunter Pence smashed a two run dinger hanging him with the loss. Nady's homer was his first as a Giant and poetically the 100th for the team this year.
                          1. The more I learn, the more convinced I am that many players are over-rated due to inflated stats from offensive home parks (and eras)
