Assuming the Giants and Tigers reach the World Series, they have never met before in World Series play.

Question: Does Bumgarner throw a changeup? If he does, I think he could use it to strikeout Cardinals batters.

As a Mets fan, I know the Cards can be beaten with a good lefty on the mound.

The Cards have the best record in baseball vs lefty starters. Although you couldn't tell it from Game 5. Excellent effort from Zito and the defense was superb.

Going to be a fun Game 6...

                Lots of demons exorcized tonight

first game 7 win ever in franchise history (excuding 9 game series)

1987 going to STL up 3-2 and not scoring a run in two games
                1. The more I learn, the more convinced I am that many players are over-rated due to inflated stats from offensive home parks (and eras)

7 down, 4 to go. This one was for Atlee Hammaker and Jeffrey Leonard and the rest of those '87 Giants. Jose Oquendo you've been laid to rest.

Wow, what a team. Down 3-1 in games....and then to comeback and allow 1!!!!!! run in the next three games!! That is so clutch, it's almost too much to believe. I'm so proud of these guys. Now it's time to show all the naysayers what Giants baseball is all about!

Congrats to the GIANTS. 19th pennant in the modern era...14 of which were in the POLO GROUNDS. In 2010, they brought the WS trophy back to Manhattan. Hope they do it again.

I went out to see the 1989 playoffs when the Giants pounded the Cubs for the Pennant. Wish I could get out there for this ! Go GIANTS.

watching Sandoval last nite led me to wonder if he had played 45 years ago, who would have won a footrace between him and Smokey Burgess

Actually, Sandoval has decent speed for his size. He is very agile for his size. He reminds me of Jerome Bettis in a way.

nice game by MadBum. I guess 11 days off was good for him. But his fastball velocity is still down. I wonder what gives?
