Cardinals in the locker room
Here is a shot of the Cardinals in the locker room, not sure which year it was with Maris on the team. From left to right (Roger Maris, Tim McCarver, Bob Gibson, Mike Shannon, Lou Brock, Orlando Cepeda, Curt Flood, Julian Javier, Dal Maxvill, and MGR Red Schoendienst in uniform).

Todd Worrell, pretty good closer for a few years with the Cardinals. Most remembered for this blown call by ump Don Denkinger in the 9th inning of Game 6, 1985 World Series.

Todd Worrell signing autographs at the Winter Warm up a few years back. Not sure if that is a fan with him, or another former player."It ain't braggin' if you can do it." Dizzy Dean

Some great Cardinal closers
No Worrell or Izzy, and they could've added the Terminator Tom Henke (had that one outstanding season in 1995 before retiring). Good pic though!

Tom Herr 2B 1979-'88 Cardinals, '88 Twins, '89-'90 Phillies, '90-'91 Mets, '91 Giants
From 1979 to 15 games played into the 1988 season, Tommy Herr was with the Cardinals at 2B. He had an amazing 1985 season where he hit .302/.379/.416, 180 hits, 97 runs, 38 2B, 3 3B, 31 SB in 34 attempts, and 110 RBI with only 8 HR! That 1985 season was his only as an All Star, and he also finished 5th in NL MVP voting. For his Cardinals career he hit .274/.349/.354 with 1021 hits in 1029 games, 179 2B, 31 3B, 19 HR, 435 RBI, 498 runs, 438 BB to 388 K, swiped 152 bases. He was at 2B for 3 World Series teams (1982, 1985, 1987) winning it all in '82. Ozzie Smith's fellow keystone cop!

Keith Hernandez was doing a broadcast of a Cardinals/Mets game about 10 years ago or so and he started talking about the pride he felt wearing that iconic "Birds on the Bat" jersey. Classic!
