Watching my boyhood baseball hero, Cardinal third sacker and NL MVP, Ken Boyer, belt a grand slam in the 6th inning of World Series Game #4, 1964 in Yankee Stadium. The Cardinals trailed 3-0 as Yankee hurler Al Downing was pitching a gem. To that point. But with Carl Warwick, Curt Flood and Dick Groat on base, Boyer sent Downing's second pitch into the leftfield seats and gave the Cardinals a 4-3 win - which was the eventual final score. More importantly, it knotted the World Series at 2-2, giving the Cardinals a chance to win in seven. It's always been said that Ken Boyer's brother, Clete Boyer, playing third for the Yankees, gave Ken a quick handshake as he rounded third.
