  • Great game last night! It is good to see everyone hitting right now. Lil' Carp seems to be pulling himself back together after the Great Sleepiness. What was that anyway? Who cares, as long as it is over. Michael Wacha is fun to watch! Thinking about applying for a job out by St. Louis, which would be perfect! Then I could be Bothrops' neighbor!

My wife gave the OK last night, thanks to the salary, but she still wants to be closer to her family in Minnesota. She agreed that St. Louis is closer to Minnesota than Central Texas! That is a step in the right direction. However, I think I would prefer to live in a small town outside of the city. I don't know. The job would be great, and right up my alley being a history major. It would be nice being close enough to go to games when I want to! Right now I am waiting to see if anything comes from my last application upstream from St. Louis. We'll see.

        • If somebody told me, way back in March, that we would be without Waino, Holliday and Matt Adams -- I'd have thought we would be looking up at the Cubs and/or the Pirates in the standings. Certainly not sitting at 33 games over .500!

                • The Cardinals record this year is an amazing 2-7 in Game-3 of a series after winning the first two. They just can't nail down a sweep.

yeah it sucks but as long as they continue to take 2 out of 3 in the 3 game series and 3 out of 4 in the 4 games ones then they will be fine.

No joke. Just take the 3 out of 5 and 4 out of 7 a couple times and we will be OK!!!

                      • Crap, now Grichuk is on the DL too! We almost have a DL squad good enough to win most divisions in MLB this year: Waino, Holliday, Adams, and now Grichuk too. Starting to look like those 1987 Red(Cross)birds.

                          • Well remember how banged up we were in 2006. Lets hope lightning strikes again for us.

Yeah, I saw that after I posted about how great our DL is. Holey buckets. When it rains. . .

Yeah, we were tore up in '06, but many of the guys came back at the right time. In '87, we were tore up and lost key elements at the wrong time -- and still nearly beat those damn Twinkies!

Sure, injuries are a part of the game, but this is getting ridiculous. It seems to only team that can beat us is our own -- by beating ourselves up and tossing the bodies on the DL. Somehow, we are still winning and 30+ games over .500. That is why anyone else would be pissed if they saw us complain about the pennant-contending team we have on the DL right now.

                              • I hope the Cards injuries that they have been overcoming are finally not catching up to them. :/
