I was playing down in Austin and missed the game today. Checking the box score (no write up yet on mlb.com) it looks like Matt Carpenter left the game at some point and Kozma slipped from 2B to 3B with Wong coming in to hit 9th in the double switch and took 2B. Please tell me Matheny was only resting Carp, and the guy didn't get hurt. Please, for the love of cookies, tell me Carp didn't get hurt.

      Dehydrated. No big deal.

Almost feel bad for the Buccos. That is 4 straight walk-off losses to the Cards and the 6th in the past 3 or 4 series.

No, MM say, Here's an idea -- instead, I'll bring in Maness, one of my last relievers, who has never bunted in his major or minor league career, and have him bunt., for the first time since high school, against major league pitching.
Yeah, bunting and MM don't mix. You can say the same thing re: bullpen management, double switches, and baserunning.

Are Cardinals fans watching him at all? Does he have a future with the big club or in the majors at all?
Yeah, he is behind Kozma and Anna on the depth chart. I am sure he will make an appearance in September, if not sooner.

Nope, I don't feel sorry for those guys at all. They'll get us back for that. They are still a fine team, and I am happy to beat them any time or any way. Good news about Carpenter, though. They should kick his 6 for allowing himself to get dehydrated. Matheny and any other coach/trainer who is responsible for watching these guys should also get a swift one in the 6 for that. No excuses.

This is the first time in franchise history the Cardinals ever won 19 of their first 25.

I have a feeling this is for real. It reminds me of 1982, when they were winning one magical game after another and miracles kept repeating themselves.

Well, I'd rather they just put teams away instead of taking years off my life with these kinds of games we have seen the past 4 or so days. That Pirates series was crazy, then this absurd explosion by both teams. As long as they win it is a good day, but I just wish we could put teams away like it was 2004-2005.

No worry, one of your 15 favorite Teams will probably win just year.

just kidding, is it still raining over there in Texas?

Run differential is still 2nd in the league, at least.

                            It's always a good year!

Every now and then, but we have made up quite a few of our games. I am having a very hard time with my Achilles in both heels. I think they are tearing up. It is very difficult to run during games without excruciating pain, and hard to walk for days following the games. I need to get down to my doctor to get an MRI, but that may not happen until after the semester is over. I still have to read a ton of books to write my final paper due next Tuesday. Of course I use that as an excuse to avoid the doctor, knowing damn well I won't be reading nonstop all week!

Sounds good to me. We did have a game where we stomped the other team I believe, but I might be thinking of another team down here.
