  • Pedro Astacio coming to Washington?

Bowden was on the sports report tonight-the News4 sports here in Washington-and he said the team is talking to Astacio and could sign him in the next 48 hours.

    WHY????

We already have Ortiz, Drese, Armas, and Lawrence.
The Q: Can the Cubs hold a 6-5 lead with 2 outs and nobody on in the 9th?

    The A: No

    ***********My Rant on Bud Selig***********
Selig is like a stray pigeon. Pigeons are too self-absorbed to care about anyone else. They poo on people they don't like; they poo on people they don't even know. The only real difference between Selig and a pigeon is that Selig intends to bury our heritage, our traditions, and our culture,

      A little competition wouldn't hurt.

Like I said, we already have Ortiz, Drese, Armas, and Lawrence with 3 spots left in the rotation. However, Rotoworld is reporting Lawrence's session today was cut short due to shoulder problems so we could save roster room by starting him this season on disabled list.

I don't really support the signing so much, but Astacio could be okay as a spot starter or a long man. He's been hurt by real tough parks for much of his career. RFK could make him effective When he finally settled in at a pitcher's park in San Diego last year he performed well.
