And that is still more than what us Washingtonians get to watch. I just contacted COMCAST and ripped them a new one for not being willing to show the games.

I'm hoping I can get Fios TV in Arlington soon so I can get MASN. A friend of mine is getting it, and the sales rep he talked to said I will be able to, but I haven't been able to confirm it.

To say that I'm less than thrilled would be an understatement. Thanks for nothing Comcast-yeah, I really need 3 home shopping channels.

I live in Woodbridge, so Im kind of screwed. There is a sports bar that opened near my house last fall that I heard has DIRECTV, so that is where I will be watching some games this year.

Guys correct me if I am wrong but every game is being broadcast.

154 on MASN. 7 on Fox. 1 on ESPN. That's all 162 games. Plus spring training added on to increase the number of games. That's excellant coverage.

Also that's not counting how many potential Braves games will be on TBS and Turner South in addition to the local broadcasts(minus blackouts). Plus there is the oppertunity for more games on ESPN should the team be one of the hot teams later in the season.

Frankly, having all games broadcast is enough. Everything else is just icing on the cake.

And there in lies the problem. First of all, not everyone has DIRECTV. And in some cases, people are unable to get it. Second of all, just about every game against the Braves last year was blacked out in Washington. And contrary to what it sounds like, MASN is not an official channel. It is a service.

Even so, the games are still televised. All 162 of them this year. That's a major milestone even if it means a large chunk of people can't see the games. Next year the team should have a local TV deal, even if it's still MASN doing the broadcasts.

That's odd. Usually the away games are shown and the home games blacked out. Must be the cable service's perogative there...

You guys have the same problem Boston had for years with NESN when NESN was a premium channel instead of a basic cable channel- and we have one of the prime teams in the league! It will probably take time before your local service expands enough so that it's not a subscription service.

Still all 162 games on the air is an achievement regardless of who shows it.

I also remember one case last year where SPORTSCENTER said during their broadcast that the game between the Mets and Nationals that day would be shown on ESPN2. When I turned to that station at game time, the game wasnt shown, it was ESPN News. The game was shown in other markets around the nation, but blacked out in Washington.

That happens in every city in-market for games other than the Sunday night game. You would probably need to be as far out as Richmond to avoid the local blackouts, possibly farther.

That sucks...They should've at least given you guys a backup game (if there was none, they could've at least shown something a little more exciting than ESPNews) It's a shame MLB,Comcast, and Mr Angelos are screwing your team in regards to the local broadcasts. Of course weren't some of MASN's games shown on UPN20 and FOX5 last year? Any word on if that will happen again this year?
                        LETS GO BUCS!!

Yes they will be. But it will be even fewer than what we had last year. Only about 40 or so. The rest of them are available only to people who pay for DIRECTV.
