What did Steve Philips just say to Manny Acta?

I thought I heard him say that Acta made 580 pitching changes last year, a major league record. :disbelief:

That can't be right, can it? ...

I just added up the pitcher appearances (and subtracted the starts) and it looks like it was 588.

I'm not surprised, with the workout that the bullpen got last year. The team used 26 pitchers during the year, and none of the starters won more than 7 games. Matt Chico pitched 167 innings, but next highest was Bacsik with 118.
