HOUSTON (AP) -- The Washington Nationals optioned reliever Jason Bergmann to Triple-A New Orleans on Saturday.

Bergmann has appeared in two games this season and allowed four hits and four runs while recording just two outs.

The Nationals plan to activate RHP Ryan Drese from the 15-day disabled list on Sunday and he will start against Houston. Drese didn't pitch in spring training after having right shoulder surgery in September.
