Perhaps I should have said that he was scouting for pitchers in the Busch leagues, geddit?
    Slingers from Singapore, perhaps?

On a personal level I feel bad for Bowden, or anyone, getting into trouble.

On a professional level Bowden has created the distraction spoken of earlier and pretty much sealed his fate with the Nationals.

It turns out that this was a scouting trip—he was out looking for good pitchers. The concern now is with whether he will take too many shots in the media.

Now, the players are all gonna be saying:
"Hey Jon Lieber, our GM is a drunk addict!"

    Very encouraging.:grouchy

Bowden's arrest comes as Major League Baseball closes in on announcing a new owner for the former Montreal Expos

"I have talked to Jim Bowden about the regrettable incident that took place Sunday night," Nationals president Tony Tavares said. "The Washington Nationals will monitor the situation as it works its way through the court system and will not make any comment or take any action until the legal issues are resolved"
More proof that Tavares is as smart as a rooster.

WTOP: Bowden charged with DUI in Florida

Says he refused to take a breath test, which creates a rebuttable presumption under Florida law.

    Lovely. One more potential distraction.
