  • A BROOKLYN Slogan?

Marty Markowitz, the current Brooklyn Borough President, has decided that BROOKLYN needs a new slogan, or perhaps a few, that will attract more people to the boro many of US used to call home.

While I know this has little to with baseball, it did get me thinking of just how easy it was to come up with slogans when OUR DODGERS lived here. No one had to explain where BROOKLYN was, EVERYONE knew. After all, OUR DODGERS DIDN'T BELONG TO BROOKLYN....THEY WERE BROOKLYN! And WE all know that the BROOKLYN BRIDGE was built to bring people to BROOKLYN from Manhattan, not the other way around.

The NY Daily News wrote a story on this very subject this past week....

THEN vs NOW...and absent BASEBALL, how would you help Marty with his "problem"?

What about Brooklyn- Home of the Brooklyn Dodgers, which it still is.
Lets get Eddie Basinski elected to the Polish Sports Hall of Fame.

            Brooklyn....Nuff said!
After 1957, it seemed like we would never laugh again. Of course, we did. Its just that we were never young again.

You guys ALL have the the right idea! The only problem is that Marty has an aversion to the phrase "BROOKLYN DODGERS", or anything connected to it these days.

Thanks for all your terrific suggestions.
