    Deb: No problem. Yes, Walker was traded by the Brooklyn Dodgers with Hal Gregg and Vic Lombardi to the Pittsburgh Pirates in
    exchange for Preacher Roe, Billy Cox and Gene Mauch (December 8, 1947).

    Thanks for the great photos, Pete.

    I should have added, that although Walker did infact "look away", it was never proven that the reason was to show his disapproval of OUR JACKIE. But, I do believe that it did contribute to his being traded shortly thereafter.

    The player was DIXIE WALKER, and I am almost certain that the year was 1947!

    Help! Looking for Brooklyn Info on...

    I recently saw a show on the great Jackie Robinson and on the show it said in one of the Dodgers team photos a player turned his head in protest to Robinson being on the team. Does anyone now the name of the player and the year it happened?
