My dad followed the Dodgers in Brooklyn. He recalls a rendition of Take Me Out to the Ballgame that he thinks was by the Brooklyn comedian Phil Foster. What made it memorable is that the words are one note late from where they're supposed to be with the melody of the song. For example, you normally start "Take" on a low note and then sing "Me" on a higher note; but in this rendition, "Take" starts on the note that "Me" is normally sung on, and the rest of the song continues in that vein.

I've searched the Internet for any mention of this and have come up empty. Of course, it may not have even been Foster who sang it this way. Anybody have idea what I'm talking about? Thanks.
